In the early 90's the band appear to have gone on a hiatus, with Robert Ryan and another member forming Pipedream (4), a largely live-only band, and with Yig Hughes forming another mainly gig band, being League of Nations.Īfter the re-release of the album on CD in 1994 the band reformed - Yig Hughes recruited Steve Williams (bass) and Desmond Connolly (drums) in a new line-up of Altered States that toured the UK, Germany, Italy and Ireland and recorded a new three-track CD EP 'Designer Reality', also released on Primary. The original line-up of the band also recorded a three-track demo EP at Alaska Studios in 1989 produced by Johnny Milton which was never commercially released. As air and water age metal, Altered State's graphics evoke both processes with highly detailed visuals and glazes for a convincing. Inspired by the uncommon compositions of metal artisans, this collection melds strength and style.

The album was later re-released in CD format in 1994 by Primary Recording Co., who purchased the original master tapes from Red Rhino, and subtitled 'The Complete Alaska Sessions' as it included the tracks 'Drowning Children' (remixed by Martin Rushent) and 'They Wouldn't Listen', which was planned to be the second 12' single but due to the demise of Ediesta Records was not released. Altered State artfully mimics the look of oxidized steel, copper, iron zinc, and chromium in durable porcelain tile. They were signed to Ediesta Records (part of Red Rhino) and recorded the tracks that became the LP 'Is Anyone Out There?' and the 12' 'Lowlife' at Alaska Studios in London. ĭuring the months of March and April the band released four trailers leading up to the full album stream of Altered State on.

On 15 March 2013 the band announced pre-order bundles as well as the official album artwork.

On the same day 'Nocturne' was available as a free download through the Century Media Records' SoundCloud website. The band released their first single, 'Nocturne', on 12 October 2012 it was officially uploaded to the Century Media Records' YouTube channel. Live drums for the album could not be recorded due to financial and time restraints drums were partially programmed by guitarist Acle Kahney and partially played by drummer Jay Postones on a digital percussion pad. You know, we're still Tesseract, but with a slightly more energetic and vibrant colour about us now'. It's brilliant to have such a guy around. Amos Williams stated about the new singer: 'It's amazing how much one person can change a band. Altered State is the only full release by the band with vocalist Ashe O'Hara.
